We are seeking a Data Scientist with emphasis on Pricing Analytics to join our talented team. The role forms part of the Data Science team but as we operate a hybrid setup you will work embedded in the Pricing and Commercial Strategy team. If you are passionate about data and extracting actionable insights using your analytical skills and techniques this is the ideal role for you. You will be working with a data engineering team who can help automate the work you are doing and support your efforts fully, and with a great Pricing team who can support your initiatives while you fulfill a key role in helping them improve their processes and business goals. This position is full-time and based in our great office in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing knowledge of econometrics and time-series modeling to develop department and style-level elasticity and promotion response models to inform business decisions
• Developing algorithms to help inform and optimize decisions around Price setting, Promotion planning and execution, and Markdown timing and depth
• Implement modeling processes from end to end including data gathering, data munging, data profiling, numerical model building, calibration, cross-validation and putting product into production
• Following implementation, track model performance and calculated improvement to business. This will include pre and post time-series analyses, and A/B testing where applicable
• Explain complex modeling approaches in layman’s terms and discuss modeling results and impact with non-technical business users

Your strengths and experience

• Bachelor (or higher) degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics with a strong quantitative background
• 2+ years of relevant data science experience
• Experience in pricing analytics with a strong understanding and proficiency of econometric and time-series modeling techniques
• Deep understanding of various statistical modeling techniques with solid and process-driven skills in conducting research and analysis
• High proficiency in SQL, R and/or Python
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner with clear recommendations based on data insight
• Experience with AWS services, Spark and Scala would be considered an asset
• Strong motivation to be a team player
