Our E-Commerce Operations Team Makes Things Happen
The Director of Ecommerce Business Operations and Planning is responsible for helping to drive and execute the overall ecommerce operations strategy for Houzz. This includes building plans, programs, and business process that will drive business in new markets and new customer segments that leverage our channels and existing and emerging strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate can balance quantitative analysis and critical business thinking with effective communication of tangible results and actions. The role is integrally involved in all aspects of building strategies and improving existing operations for our trade, category management, operations, analytics, and supply chain teams, defining goals and influencing compensation models as well as identifying any other programs that will be critical to realizing success. This individual must be very strong at working cross functionally at all levels (from junior to C level discussions) of the organization. The candidate also thrives in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment and can take on new responsibilities quickly.
What You’ll Do
  • Partner with Marketplace leadership to develop ecommerce business strategies and growth for the business. Includes internal and external research and analytics for data driven decision making
  • Oversee, implement, and manage e-commerce planning and budgeting processes. Ensure planning and budgeting efforts are appropriately integrated with other planning processes employed within the business
  • Drive efficiency across all Marketplace business units (Category Management, Supply Chain, Trade, Customer Service, etc.)Build financial and operational infrastructure for top initiatives (models, reporting, trend analysis, compensation etc.) using Python, R, or Tableau
  • Thought leadership, business analysis and real-time execution on mission-critical initiatives as part of the leadership team
  • Proactively drive the Marketplace Business Plan framework and its individual key components - coverage model, compensation strategy, go-to-market framework – through the various early and quarterly planning cycles
  • Ensure market and capacity analysis, customer segmentation, and predictive analytics reports and other internal intelligence is provided to the Marketplace organization
  • Constant, clear communication of objectives, status and results to all stakeholders
  • Partner with the Marketplace Financial Planning & Analysis lead to own Marketplace model operations expenses, cost modeling, and forecasts (monthly updating cadence)
  • Balance strategy with operations to ensure that models can be effectively implemented
  • Direct all planning related operations, including the development of scorecards to monitor key processes
  • Drive the go to market planning process, working in close co-operation with Marketing, Product Management, Services, Finance, Sales leadership and Technology
  • Strong partnering and influencing of technical needs, partnering with technology team (Palo Alto) to ensure effective execution of Marketplace/Ecommerce tools and strategy
  • At a Minimum, We’d Like You To Have…
  • 10+ years of experience at senior management level, driving revenue, partner, and/or profitability strategies for ecommerce organization
  • Expertise in Salesforce or equivalent CRM/BI software
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and strong grasp of financial statements and modelingR, Python, Tableau, SQL technical expertise
  • Strong expertise in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup)
