About the Role
Houzz is seeking a user-centric product manager to build shopping experiences on our Marketplace. With over 10M products and 40M monthly unique users, Houzz has grown into a top eCommerce destination in a few short years, but we’re just getting started. Shopping for the home is uniquely different than other product categories and Houzz is a complete platform for home design, so there are multiple channels and levers to delight users and deliver compelling experiences.
We are looking for a execution-oriented product manager who can really understand user behavior in a multi-sided marketplace by looking at qualitative or quantitative signals, has the creativity and optimism to formulate new ideas and devise innovative solutions, is oriented strongly towards experimentation, and, above all, uses data and structured thinking to inform their approach. The ideal candidate will know how to balance the big, bold ideas with the here and now of chipping away at user pain. In this role, you will build a roadmap of ideas all aimed at transforming the shopping experience of users at Houzz - leveraging all aspects of the overall Houzz product offerings.  You will explore ideas across mobile and web and work across many product areas.
What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to create and manage the roadmap for key aspects of shopping experience on Houzz with a focus on activation, retention, and reactivation of existing users on web and mobile apps
  • Lead a focused engineering and design team and to ruthlessly prioritize potential projects based on impact, execute rapidly to gather signal, and iterate on and launch promising ideas
  • Work hand-in-hand with data analytics teams to analyze results and synthesize findings
  • Own and deliver on key user metrics each quarter
  • Clearly communicate product strategy in a structured way to socialize your roadmap and report results
  • Champion a “growth mindset” and approach across the team 
  • Stay on top of best practices across the industry and broadly in web and mobile consumer experiences to keep Houzz on the cutting edge of user experience  
  • At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have
  • A technical background, including but not limited to a degree in Computer Science
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Product Management at a consumer internet company with a proven track record of successful, consumer-facing product launches that touch millions of users
  • Strong product instincts; you intuitively understand why product ideas will succeed
  • A fundamentally data-driven and technical mindset; you have the ability to collect and analyze data from a variety of sources, identify key insights, spot optimization opportunities, and inform product decisions
  • A bias towards action and experimentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a wide range of team members and job functions
  • Ideally, You'll Also Have
  • Work experience in a consumer growth role
  • Domain experience in eCommerce is a plus, but not required. We’re looking for smart and motivated self-starters who can learn quickly
