Position Overview
Houzz is looking for a strong consumer product marketer to shape the voice of Houzz to consumers who purchase products on our Marketplace. With over 10M products and 40M monthly unique users, Houzz has grown into a top eCommerce destination in a few short years, but we’re just getting started. User touch points with the Houzz Marketplace are online and offline -- and both are critically important to the overall experience. How we present ourselves across all mediums is vital for delivering customer delight and growing a loyal base of customers.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the engagement and retention of Marketplace customers. You will work closely with the product, growth, design, engineering, sales and operations teams (and more) to develop and execute on a lifecycle marketing strategy across many channels and product surfaces. You will take on a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: product positioning, in-product messaging, analyzing data to develop engagement campaigns, creating educational content, crafting external communications, and working with the product team to prioritize features. You will own the product marketing strategy from beginning to end.
Contributions:
  • Develop positioning, write messaging, and articulate the value proposition of the Houzz Marketplace to our core users
  • Drive the production of new marketing content (external announcements, product collateral, educational videos, email creative, etc.) as we launch new products In partnership with product teams, manage and implement a lifecycle marketing strategy to promote customer purchasing and loyalty
  • Define the voice of Houzz and ensure consistency across all consumer touch points, offline and online
  • Conduct market analysis to understand product gaps as it pertains to customer shopping experiencesIdentify and test new consumer engagement mechanisms (email campaigns, partner marketing, in-product messaging, etc).
  • Required Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of 5+ years of consumer product marketing experience, including hands-on responsibilities with product messaging, content creation, and performance/growth marketing
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong ability to generate high-quality customer-facing creative and copy, with a keen sense for the right voice, tone, and design
  • Analytical in nature; focus on quantitative metrics to measure success of efforts and campaigns
  • Have technical independence: can quickly collect and analyze data to support decisions without help from others
  • Expert working cross-functionally and influencing teams across boundaries
  • Conversant in multiple marketing channels
  • A self-starter with an amazing ability to drive projects to completion.
