About the Role
Houzz is looking for world-class business analysts to join our Marketing Analytics team. Our mission is to assist Houzz growth initiatives with data driven insights. Our team is working on discovering information hidden in vast amounts of data to make intelligent business decisions and to deliver better products. Critical projects will focus on the ongoing development of measurement systems, experiments and learning of data-driven insights to guide future business directions.
What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with leadership, marketers, analytics, engineering and finance teams to identify, define and launch strategic and marketing initiatives to scale our marketplace
  • Build and track key metrics (KPIs) of the marketing team
  • Identify, diagnose and recommend projects to improve the performance of various marketing channels
  • Develop predictive models to forecast revenue growth, performance and new opportunities for investment
  • Own the end-to-end execution of projects by working with a broad cross-functional team
  • Measure and effectively communicate results to the entire organization
  • Identify key areas of growth through market research, competitive landscape analysis and your own intuition supported by data
  • At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have
  • A B.A./B.S. degree in technical or business fields or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years experience with analytics for consumer web and/or mobile applications using user log data 
  • Experience with modern distributed data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Teradata, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries; you should feel comfortable using aggregate functions, window functions and all types of joins
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work independently and deliver quality results
  • Experience developing dashboards with reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Ideally, You'll Also Have
  • Experience scripting in languages such as Python
  • A M.S. degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.
