As Accounting and Tax Manager at Moneyfarm, you’ll be in charge of accounting and controls for both Italian and UK entities of the Group. You’ll be the principal reference in the Group for all day-to day accounting activities and reporting. You’ll be a reference contact for external consultants and external auditors, and you’ll help dealing with regulators. You’ll also be involved in corporate law and cash management topics.
The position is also opened to candidates who belong to 'Categorie protette' (LG 68/99).
Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting, tax, and treasury functions both for Italy and for the UK.
- Oversee the routine financial operations of all the companies in the group, ensuring payments are made on time and transactions are correctly recorded.
- Line management of two junior accounts payable staff.
- Prepare and file VAT returns in conjunction with external consultants.
- Ensure the reliability of financial information used to prepare internal reporting.
- Contribute to the development of financial strategies.
- Monitor cash requirements and manage cash movements around the group.
- Establish right relationships with members of the senior management.
- Be a key contact for all outsourced finance functions in particular payroll and auditors.
- Identify and implement improvements in the performance of financial operations.
- Cooperate in activities of due-diligence when requested.
- Control and personally approve Italian regulatory filings.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in regulated financial services or fintech 
- Experience with Netsuite
- Experience with Italian investment taxes such as stamp duty and capital gains
- previous experience with Consob and Banca d'Italia regulations are considered as a plus
Requirements
- 4+ years experience in similar role, preferably in a fast-growth / disruptive / forward-thinking business
- Works well as part of a team in a high-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to accurately perform tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to work with remote teams
- Fluent English
