One.Tray’s Milan-based Co-founders, Endeavor entrepreneurs Federico Kluzer and Alessandro Pedote developed the most technologically advanced security ‘tray-as-a- service’. With the aim to enhance the traveller experience while offering brands an innovative advertising opportunity. In return for providing trays to airports, they are granted the rights to sell advertising on them.

Today One.Tray is present in over 40 airports in Europe, UK, Middle East and Latin America. The traffic generated by airports using their trays amounted to 450 million passengers per year in 2019. With travel expected to bounce back as restrictions ease around the world One.Tray are building up their team.

The company’s DNA lies in R&D, driven by understanding their stakeholders’ needs. The current version of One.Tray offers enhanced antimicrobial properties, is 100% recyclable, made of self-reinforced polypropylene guaranteeing extreme resistance, reduced noise and low weight. Moreover, studies on materials and printing technologies have enabled the development of a patented printing process ideal for high quality reproduction of advertising images and messaging.

One.Tray clients to date include, among others, Mastercard, Lufthansa, Netflix and American Express.

Responsibilities:

One.Tray are looking to recruit a highly motivated, analytical, and ambitious Business Development and Research Associate. The role will be instrumental in supporting the Commercial Director shape the business strategy, secure sponsorship deals and driving the company’s commercial success.

One.Tray is present in over 40 airports across the globe and has ambitious targets to continue its growth trajectory.

The Business Development and Research Associate will report directly to the Commercial Director and support a number of areas across the business. Providing a great opportunity for personal development and progression within this young and growing business. More specific areas of focus will be:

  • Market analysis of brands by marketing spend and target audiences.
  • Helping identify and secure new advertising leads via various sales channels.
  • Provide insight and analysis to strengthen pitches to potential brand sponsors and airport/industry partners.
  • Identify and leverage key brand hooks that are specific and relevant to potential advertisers. Establishing the customer’s needs to ensure our proposals are as compelling as possible.
  • Review profitability/sales margin of existing contracts. Ensuring an effective pricing model to be used going forward, both in relation to airports and advertisers.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with our airport partner’s and their customer insights teams, obtaining passenger demographics, forecasts and airline route news. To strengthen our sales pitch and provide regular updates to clients during their campaigns.
  • Identify any research gaps and manage agencies/airports to deliver required research.
  • Convert research findings into compelling case studies and articles for use via our marketing channels and client pitches.
  • Maintain a database of passenger traffic, actual and forecast data, for our partner airports, sharing regularly with the wider team.
  • Develop templates for client updates and feedback. Compiling and maintaining databases and integrating feedback into future initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with key industry publications to help inform forecasting alongside airport data.
  • Help with business case development and risk analysis of new ventures. Monitor results to ensure objectives/goals are being met.
  • Analysis of research, both in house and the wider market to identify latest business trends, technologies and opportunities. Scaling these to establish possible commercial opportunities.
  • Working with the finance team on budgeting and long-term planning. Helping to develop more robust financial models around all projects.
  • Supporting various project teams during the analysis and planning stages.
  • Research and analysis of competitors and their initiatives and innovations at airports.
  • Based in London you will be required to build close working relationships with your colleagues in the Milan head office. Supporting them and the Founders as required in the development of new business cases, presentations and pitches.

Experience required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline, though preferably in a business-, marketing- , computing-, economics-, or numeracy-related subject.
  • 5+ years research and analysis experience. Aviation, Marketing or Sales sector an advantage but not a necessity.
  • Extremely analytical, able to digest large volumes of data and turn them into simple and compelling insights.
  • Skilled in building highly polished presentations and content, highlighting the killer insights.
  • A proactive individual hungry to join a young and exciting company.

Location and remuneration:

  • The company head office is in Milan, Italy while this role will be based out of London.
  • Flexible working between London office, home and occasional visits to Milan.
