THE MISSION
Luca, our Head of Engineering, is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their team as Scalapay grows.
This role is based in Milan, Italy, where we’ll expect to see you often, however we are open to you working remotely regularly. We like to think that we're pretty good at offering a job that fits nicely into a fulfilled life for everyone.
You will be responsible for:
- Continuous improvements to the observability of systems including, logging, monitoring and alerting
- Identify complex areas of infrastructure and code that require refactoring and technical debt and ensure these are addressed as appropriate
- Incident management, problem resolution, blameless postmortems and root cause analysis
- Management of network architecture
- Management, configuration, and automation of security platforms
- Design and build infrastructure solutions to support existing and emerging products;
- Develop guidelines and support documentation;
- Ensure solutions delivered are fit for purpose, meet security, risk and audit requirements, meet stakeholder expectations and do not cause high severity outages;
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Must have:
- Strong grasp of networking, security, and reliability fundamentals
- Strong experience and knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure
- Experience and a fundamental understanding of CICD practices
- Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies and practices
- Previous success in technical engineering
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Cloudformation, ARM Templates or Cloud Development Manage
Nice to have :
- Experience in operationally supporting cloud native microservices
- Experience with Datadog
- Experience with OpsGenie
- Exposure to high volume NodeJS applications
Soft skills:
- You are data-driven and organised, you like things to run like a machine
- You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written): you are able to break down complex topics into simple solutions and ideas
- You’re a self-starter, autonomous & proactive: we’re looking for someone who will go and get things done, not wait for instructions
