About The Internship

Do you want to help build one of the best apps in the world? Have you wondered what TDD looks like on real world software? Do you long to see what goes into building highly scalable and resilient software? Then look no further! We’re offering the opportunity to be a part of all our major development teams as part of our 3 month paid summer internships in 2018. At the end of the successful completion of this internship, there may be an opportunity to turn this internship into a Junior Software Engineer role.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will be on a rotational internship and work on all of Shazam’s main platforms: iOS, Android, Data (Scala) and Server (Java, Kotlin, GoLang). You will work with our world-class engineers to develop the technologies that help millions of users connect and interact with the media around them. You could be designing, developing, testing, deploying and running operations, and lots more!

 Primary Responsibilities

•        Help develop features on specific projects, mentored by an experienced software engineer
•        Work with team members to help define technical solutions to customers’ requirements
•        Pair effectively with software engineers in each team
•        Work with teams to follow best engineering practices and quality requirements
•        Actively participate in the daily stand ups

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Essential: penultimate or final year undergraduate studying towards a degree relevant to software engineering & with a demonstrable passion for programming
• Our ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment and can handle technical conversations with software engineers
• You should have previous programming experience
• A fast learner with the ability to adapt to new team environments and priorities quickly
• A great team player that can work confidently with managers and developers alike
