Position Overview
As a Backend Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to expand and enhance our existing codebase, while also driving innovation for new features. You will have complete ownership of your work, ensuring that every aspect is executed to a high standard. This includes ensuring code functionality, implementing comprehensive test automation, optimizing scalability within our cloud infrastructure, and establishing proper monitoring practices.
Your role will involve working with the latest cloud native services and solutions, actively contributing to the ongoing evolution of our platform. You will strive to maximize its value for our customers by working on one of the core functionalities of our platform, using different technologies to achieve our goals. Embracing the dynamic nature of the role, you will always be presented with new challenges, making your work both engaging and intellectually stimulating.
About the team
Our revenue enablement platform's Appy and Experiences team is dedicated to delivering sales content and at the same time building an app platform for extending the capabilities of Showpad. The codebase is implemented in PHP and Kotlin, and we are currently in the process of transitioning to the AWS cloud serverless environment, using Typescript. Our updated technology stack heavily relies on AWS services such as API Gateway, Aurora, CDK, Lambda, S3, Dynamo, Step Functions, and more. We make use of the appropriate service for each specific task to ensure optimal functionality.

Required Skills for a Backend Engineer at Showpad
- 3+ years of experience as backend engineer develop scalable, production-ready using PHP (Symfony) or JVM-based languages (Kotlin)
- Experience designing and implementing APIs for, and collaborating with, internal and/or public data consumers
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
- Understands the importance of strong software testing at every stage and can advocate for test-driven development
- Continuous integration and delivery mindset
Bonus Points
- Experience working in a tenant database environment is a plus
- Experience with event driven architecture design and implementation
- AWS Certified Developer or Solution Architect Associate/Professional
