SumUp è un mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) leader in Europa. Al giorno d'oggi, decine di migliaia di commercianti accettano pagamenti attraverso SumUp. Il terminal SumUp agisce in combinazione con la nostra App, permettendo ai commercianti di accettare transazioni sicure per carte di credito e bancomat. Il pagamento si basa interamente sulla tecnologia end-to-end EMV, e sulle applicazioni mobile. Inoltre, il metodo di iscrizione ed accesso è davvero facile, veloce ed intuitivo.

We process more than 300 thousand transaction per month, and because of that we are moved by a desire to always create the best solutions ever. Concurrency, high performance, scalability and high availability are present in our daily routine. To accomplish this challenge, we use tools and languages that most suit to any given problem, so, learning fast is one of the most welcome skill for us. We know how big our challenge is and for delivering the best solutions we'll need the best engineers.

Requirements

Major degree in one of the following areas: Software Engineer, Computer Science or related areas;

Strong PHP skills;

Hands on experience with MVC frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, Zend Framework);

Strong knowledge in Data Structure, Algorithms, System Architecture and Object Oriented Programming, Relational Databases;

Eager to learn new languages, methodologies and technologies;

Passion for working in a dynamic and high performance environment; able to deliver fast and with quality;

At least 5 years of working experience;


Desired, but not mandatory:


Experience with non-relational databases;

Knowledge of agile methodologies and techniques: Scrum, XP, Kanban, pair-programming, etc.;

Experience on coding modular, testable, uncoupled systems;

Experience on developing service oriented architecture/microservices plataforms;

Experience with Ruby;

Jenkins and deployment automation

    The Job

    We want to build something unique and have a world class team.

    You will start the Learning & Development and Compensation efforts: that means that you will define processes, metrics and work across global projects as:

  • Learning strategy - from on boarding through to top management training
  • Performance evaluation, succession plan, climate, etc.
  • Structure compensation & benefits
  • Provide management coaching to front line managers and senior leaders
  • Assess business unit's HR training needs and conduct training sessions where appropriate
  • Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements
  • Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions and promotions
  • Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the client group

  • Requirements

  • Fluency in English is mandatory, you will work with a Global team
  • 5+ years of related experience in Human Resources management
  • Previous experience in the internet industry is preferred, but not mandatory

    Your impact at SumUp

    As part of our vision to become a truly global IT organisation, we have started to build out local, autonomous, cross-functional teams that can take an aspect of our product and perfect it from concept to execution. As Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of the on of the most strategic teams: Merchants Acquisition - acquisition on all channels, e-commerce and on-boarding experience.


    Your role and responsibilities

  • Be a technical leader within your team.
  • Participate in API design and implementation for both internal APIs and those exposed to our third-party integrators.
  • Provide thoughtful and comprehensive documentation and testing for your features before shipping them.
  • Design, implement, and iteratively improve new backend services.
  • Maintain and extend existing backend services (written in Ruby or Node).
  • Collaborate with other software, QA and sysops engineers to ensure smooth deployment, continual operation and support for quality software.
  • Coach and mentor other engineers to increase their abilities and productivity.
  • Actively provide code review feedback to other software engineers, considering both style and implementation.

  • Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent fundamentals
  • 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role;
  • Experience with one or more of the following languages: Javascript on the Back (Node.js), Ruby (also on the Rails), Erlang/ Elixir
  • Experience with microservices architecture and Restful APIs
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL)
  • Experience within Linux/Unix environment (comfortable working with a CLI)
  • Solid OOP and FP skills
  • Solid debugging, optimisation and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and engaged attitude towards projects
  • Ability to write clear and concise code that your teammates can understand and build upon

  • A strong candidate will also have:

  • Good working knowledge of message brokers - RabbitMQ, Kafka
  • Contribution to open source projects or personal projects is desirable

    The job

    You will join a team of highly motivated individuals who drive the SumUp for Developers channel. This customer facing role will give you an opportunity to work on a complex product with experienced stakeholders who will guide you along your journey — be warned: a successful outcome will rely on your determination to get the job done.     Responsibilities:

  • Drive the SumUp for Developers business; serving the high value customers of our leading partners using SumUp’s services across Europe, the US & South America
  • Engage with SumUp’s customers via phone, email and social media to help them grow their business; offer product insights and helpful guidance to both our new and existing customers
  • Develop new business by onboarding corporate clients in a swift and timely manner
  • Analyse data and internal reports to help optimise the customer experience and deliver regular customer feedback to the team
  • Requirements

  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be bilingual, speaking English in addition to having native-level language skills in German
  • Must have amazing people skills. As an Account Manager, you are responsible for the “WOW” experience with customers and must have the confidence to communicate effectively
  • Be proactive and self-driven to achieve daily goals and start new initiatives. We're an evolving and rapidly growing company; everything can be re-designed by you
