BancoEstado has partnered with SumUp, the leading mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) company in Europe, to create the first Payment Facilitator and mPOS provider in Chile. This new venture-backed company has as its mission to create a micro-acquiring network that will enable thousands of PYMES throughout the country to grow their business by accepting debit and credit card payments, using their smartphones or tablets, in a simple, secure and cost-effective way.

The Role: We are now looking for a very smart and proactive A-player to join our team as a Finance & Control Manager. In this high-visibility role, you will constantly interact with peers, local regulatory agencies, Government, and with the company’s local board of directors, composed of senior executives from BancoEstado and from SumUp Global. As such, you will have to be extremely articulate, and be comfortable communicating with a very diverse array of stakeholders. The Finance & Control Manager is a very hands-on role, and as such, you will be responsible for developing and executing sustainable financial controlling systems, as well as identifying, quantifying and controlling savings and growth potentials. You will represent the company in all matters related to risk identification, future mitigation efforts, and impact assessment, and communicate this to the appropriate regulators. You will also work closely with the Managing Director to ensure the continuous implementation and improvement of business processes within Operations, Accounting, Administrative, and even Logistics and Importations. Additionally, you will oversee all matters related to compliance, and help management with budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

  • A 4-year Bachelor’s of Science degree or similar education, and a solid academic record, marked by strong analytical skills.
  • Up to 4 years of experience, ideally within Management Consulting, Finance, Private Equity, FMCG or a high-growth Startup; recent MBA graduates encouraged to apply.
  • international experience will be a major plus.
  • Basic professional experience in the areas of Finance, Controlling and Accounting.
  • Ability to speak and write English and Spanish fluently and idiomatically.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will:

  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on attitude, demonstrated either professionally or through extracurricular activities (clubs, associations or hobbies).
  • Be highly proactive and intellectually curious, and show a desire for personal impact within the PYMES sector.
  • Be self-sufficient and with decision taking capacity; must be comfortable dealing with and managing ambiguity.
