Principal Software Engineer – B2B

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Software Engineer to lead and be part of our development team for the Digital Engineering/e-Commerce Platform team.

The Principal Software Engineer will work side by side with the Business/Technical team members to define software/data solution requirements for B2B commerce, and develop and deliver efficient software code to timely process/handle data from different source systems. You will also partner closely with technical experts in defining reusable patterns, developing code standards/guidelines, and creating a review process that ensures quality across the development pipeline. 

How You Will Make a Difference: 

Working in collaboration with Consumer Platform Product Owners and Scrum master in Agile (Scrum mainly/Kanban when necessary) fashion to estimate and plan technical/software development activities you will:

• Be responsible for delivery of key technical and software engineering requirements

• Provide detailed effort estimates and work breakdown structure for assigned tasks

• Collaborate with Solution architects to translate business/architectural requirements into well-designed software engineering solutions

• Set/adhere to standards and guidelines for security, audit compliance, and error handling best practices

• Design and develop high-quality APIs that are scalable and global at the core

• Develop software, test, and document solutions and assist in data integration/migration of consumer information across multiple platforms

• Work in a team with other data engineers for timely release of deliverable for the business

• Participate in an Agile squad (scrum team)

• Be an authority for software solutions and create proof-of -concept/custom demos that align with technical and business requirements

• Provide on-call production support as required

• Hands on code development in multiple programming languages and experience with enterprise commerce applications

• Evaluate and recommend key technical software engineering solutions for managing global best in class Consumer Data across enterprise landscape

What you need to succeed

You will have experience in developing software for wholesale & retail business processes across commerce applications that share common data elements using scalable and proven design patterns/standards and techniques. Further more you will have experience of:

• Designing, implementing, and supporting innovative Enterprise software engineering solutions and meeting critical business requirements in retail industry
• Working with B2B commerce data from systems like ECOMM, SAP, Salesforce
• Leading progressive involving wholesale data and demonstrable wholesale/retail business knowledge as well as legacy application conversion or modernization using cloud based solutions
• Developing software and deployment of innovative cloud based solutions to handle B2B/wholesale commerce
• Developing software using Php/Angular/Java/Javascript/Node.js/Python and deploying in scalable cloud infrastructure
• Developing and working with multiple cloud based solutions; AWS and Google Cloud
• Designing software/data solution using serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, serverless/event driven models) and developing scalable streaming/messaging solutions using cloud-based tools (AWS SNS/SQS preferred, Pub/Sub or Service Bus) will be a plus
• Working with CI/CD tools and promoting high quality codes through pipeline to production
• Designing RESTful API specs and MuleSoft development in both on-prem /cloud environments, pub-sub, near real-time data exchange
• API documentation with swagger and ability to code in Javascript/Node.js, Python
• Developing applications using serverless stack and performance tuning/log monitoring
• Standard network security protocol. (eg. OAuth, OAuth2, SAML, LDAP)
• Migrating consumer accounts and profiles to cloud based platforms

On top of this you will will enjoy working with a diverse group of architects, engineers and developers to design/deliver API-led modern cloud-based software solutions and:

• Have a background in large integration/big data projects with large and multi-sourced consumer data sets in retail setup
• Be familiar with agile methodologies for enterprise SDLC across service development, security, deployment, maintenance, operations, monitoring, and updates preferred
• Be familiar with applications that support PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), DAM (Digital Assets Management), PIM (Product Information Management), Merchandise Assortment Planning, Visual Line Planning, Digital B2B, Digital showroom solutions, B2B self-service portals, B2B Ecommerce
• Possess Knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols and technologies: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, SSO, etc.
• Hold a thorough understanding of Product Catalog, Digital Asset Management, B2B commerce, ATP, Wholesale ordering,  Inventory/Shipment/Warehouse/Material Management (SAP tables)
• Be adept at using JIRA & Confluence or similar tracking and management tools
• Have the ability to perform code review and technical design review
