About the role
Writers at Wooga are an integral part of defining the vision for our story-driven games. You will join a team of writers in a creative, collaborative environment. Working in the writers room, you will participate in the story creation process from beginning to end, brainstorming new stories, outlining plots, developing characters and character voice, designing quests, and writing dialogue with a strong sense of character voice and motivation. You love to iterate on ideas, and are quick to come up with creative solutions.
- Write compelling dialogue, with special attention to scene structure and character voice
- Collaborate in the writers room, shaping plots, designing quests, and making each others’ ideas better
- Work with artists and designers to shape the narrative design and presentation of the game’s story
- Give great feedback on all aspects of the game
- Work with marketing to communicate the narrative vision of the game through the brand
- Get to know the audience and keep the player’s experience in mind when pitching new ideas
About you
- You have professional experience writing fiction, with a focus on great dramatic dialogue
- You can write a wide range of character voices, from diverse backgrounds
- You can adapt to new processes and tools quickly
- You are flexible, open, and collaborative
- You are willing to learn the “nice to have”s below with the support of your team and manager
- You have exceptional written English skills
- You love to iterate on ideas, and are quick to come up with creative solutions
Nice to have:
- Experience writing branching dialogue
- Experience writing video games
- Strong interest in mobile games and understanding of the casual mobile audience
- Experience writing detective stories or urban fantasy
Please submit up to 10 pages of writing samples, preferably previously published or shipped work, demonstrating your ability to write dramatic scenes with strong storytelling and character voice.
