THE ROLE

Onfido is growing rapidly as we launch our product internationally and aggressively scale the team in all areas. To support that growth, we’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join us as Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to make a huge contribution to Finance at Onfido. You will be responsible for the operational and financial accounting aspects of Onfido’s finance function. This role requires excellent accounting knowledge, high attention to detail, and a love of developing robust financial processes. We are also looking for someone with a lot of potential, who wants to grow and develop in the role.

The Finance Manager role at Onfido will involve:

- Preparing monthly accounts and maintaining the ledger

- Performing the monthly payroll

- Managing the month end process

- Helping define and implement further month end processes

- Preparing annual statutory accounts

- Consolidating the group accounts

- Managing the accounting for our international entities

- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable

- Monitoring Onfido’s bank accounts and maintaining relationships with our banks

- Assisting the Finance Director in ad-hoc projects

- Growing in the role and taking on increased responsibilities

Requirements

You’ll be have the ideal combination of finance talents: highly numerate, obsessed with detail, resourceful, and a great colleague whose helpful and friendly attitude is a delight to those they interact with. You’ll be cool under pressure and able to work independently to hit tight deadlines.

Essential:

- Fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent

- Role suited to candidates with circa 1-3 years PQE, eager to learn and develop their career in a start-up

- Strong technical accounting experience, gained in a tax, audit, or financial accounting environment

- High numeracy. Numbers are your language

- Obsessed with detail. For you, if it doesn't reconcile to the penny, it doesn't reconcile!

- Experience in developing robust and scalable processes

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)

- Familiarity with accounting software

Nice-to-have:

- Directly similar experience managing in-house payables/receivables and the general ledger

- Experience working in a startup

- Experience managing or overseeing trainee accountants

- Degree in a numerate discipline

- Familiarity with Google Apps (GMail, Docs, Sheets etc.)

- Experience using Xero
