About the Role
At Houzz, we make it a priority to understand our users for our business strategy and design decisions. UX Researchers will help us create useful, usable, and engaging experiences for our users around the world. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of passionate designers, product managers, engineers and data scientists, and will gain user and market insights by utilizing a variety of research methods to inspire change at all stages of product development.
What You'll Do
  • Identify opportunities for high-impact UX research across Houzz’ user-facing and pro-facing products
  • Lead end-to-end research that informs business strategy and product design
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Design, Engineering, Data and Marketing
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources and communicate research findings to shape business and product decisions
  • Mentor researchers throughout the product lifecycle to ensure quality of work
  • At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have
  • Master's or PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Market Research or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience conducting research for complex user experiences
  • Knowledge of a broad range of qualitative and/or quantitative UX research methods, such as lab-based or remote usability studies, user interviews, eye tracking, field research, survey research, experiment design and statistical analysis
  • Proven track record of using research to generate product and business impact
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Passion for using data to inform decisions and to advocate for our users
  • Ideally, You'll Also Have
  • Experience with SPSS, SQL, online survey platforms such as SurveyGizmo and Qualtrics, and remote usability testing tools such as UserZoom and Validately
  • Working knowledge of statistics and the principles of experiment design
  • Experience working with consumer- and business-facing products
  • Experience conducting market research, such as segmentation studies, brand studies, and pricing research
