About the Role
At Houzz, we make it a priority to understand our users for our business strategy and design decisions. UX Researchers will help us create useful, usable, and engaging experiences for our users around the world. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of passionate designers, product managers, engineers and data scientists, and will gain user and market insights by utilizing a variety of research methods to inspire change at all stages of product development.
What You'll Do
  • Design and conduct qualitative research studies, including user interviews, in-person or remote usability studies, focus groups, etc., for our existing and future products
  • Design and conduct quantitative research studies, including writing surveys and analyzing survey data, to evaluate design and measure quality of user experience
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Design, Engineering, Data, and Marketing
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources and communicate research findings to shape design and product decisions
  • At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Market Research or related field
  • 2+ years of experience conducting research in an applied setting
  • Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative UX research methods, such as lab-based or remote usability studies, user interviews, field research, survey research and statistical analysis
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Passion for using data to inform decisions and to advocate for our users
  • Ideally, You'll Also Have
  • Experience with online survey platforms, such as SurveyGizmo and Qualtrics, and with remote usability testing tools such as UserZoom and Validately
  • Experience working with consumer- and business-facing products
  • Working knowledge of statistics and experience with statistical analysis tools
  • Track record of working with cross-functional teams and influencing key product decisions with research findings
