Role Scenario


Our app creates magic for millions of people every day and we need a new Payroll Assistant on a temp to perm basis to come and help run the payroll for the 200+ Shazamers making that magic happen. This will involve supporting the entire payroll for UK, US, AUS and Germany, ensuring all payroll related matters are running smoothly.


You will have excellent attention to detail and a mature attitude in the work place. The sensitive nature of information and strict deadlines require a person with the ability to work under pressure and with discretion. We are a business focused on continuous improvement, we need someone with the same focus to come and assist with the running and maintenance of the payroll.


Where Does The Role Sit?


This role reports directly to our Payroll Manager and will have a variety of opportunities to assist with all aspects of the payroll process as well as supporting the wider finance department and some ad hoc duties involving members of the HR team.


What Will You Do?


  • Processing of all payroll for UK, US, Germany and Australia from start to finish
  • Collate new starter documents and review new contracts for payroll, commission and options purposes
  • General ledger account reconciliation and payroll journal preparation and posting (UK/US/Germany/AUS)
  • Expenses management and co-ordination (UK/US/Germany/AUS)
  • The processing of year end and P60’s
  • Up to date legislation knowledge of P45/SMP/SPP/SL2/NIC’s etc
  • Managing the apprenticeship levy
  • PSA reconciliation
  • P11D preparation and submission
  • Reconciliation and reporting of option allocation

Experience: Required


  • Microsoft Excel – able to utilise and run complex formulae
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Proactive attitude to working and learning new skills
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Able to work autonomously but actively be a part of continuous process improvements through the Finance and Payroll team
