Position Overview
Houzz is looking for an execution-oriented, analytical leader who can drive solutions to key scaling challenges and inform strategic direction as we build our rapidly-growing Marketplace. With over 10M products and 40M monthly unique users, Houzz has grown into a top ecommerce destination in a few short years, but we’re just getting started. The Houzz Marketplace is a multi-faceted business with many complex problems to tackle and we feel that it’s the perfect time for an experienced operator to help accelerate our growth.
You will be part of the Marketplace Product team -- a reflection of the fact that we consider this role to be both strategic and executional in nature. You will serve as a “PM of our business”, owning key metrics, drawing insights from data, identifying areas for growth, and increasing the overall profitability of the the Houzz Marketplace.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical and can develop thoughtful solutions to a wide variety of critical challenges. You will work closely with product, analytics, engineering, sales, finance, and operations teams to define and execute on strategic growth-related initiatives across the business. Your set of responsibilities and projects will be quite diverse, but business judgement, problem-solving, a data-driven mindset, and a bias towards execution are the skills that will make you successful.
Contributions:Collaborate with leadership, product, analytics, engineering, operations, and finance teams to identify, define, and launch strategic and operational initiatives to scale the Marketplace Identify key areas of growth through market research, competitive landscape analysis and your own intuition supported by dataRelentlessly manage the key metrics (KPIs) of the business and productEnsure product areas are performing in line with our high expectations; identify, diagnose, and recommend projects to improve our performanceDevelop predictive models to forecast our growth, engagement, and revenue; identify expansions of our business and new opportunities for investmentContribute directly to overall product strategyIdentify operational efficiencies to the business that will enable scaleOwn the end-to-end execution of projects by working with a broad cross-functional teamMeasure and effectively communicate results to the entire organizationFor the experienced candidate, there will an opportunity to build and grow a team over timeDesired Skills & Experience:B.A./B.S. degree, with an M.B.A., or Master’s/Ph.D degree in a management or technical field6+ years of relevant work experience, typically in management consulting, product management, investment banking, or venture capitalDeep and extensive work experience in consumer Internet and/or early stage companiesHighly data-driven and analytical in natureA track record of executing successful complex strategic initiativesAn innate ability to work seamlessly with technical and non-technical folks and earn their trust A self-starter with an amazing ability to solve problems and drive projects to completionExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a wide range of team members and job functionsAbility to synthesize and present results effectively to cross-functional teams
