The Planet Express Team at Bonial is in charge of developing and maintaining our Content & Publishing platform, allowing our internal stakeholders to create high quality content and publish them on time. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to work with us on all the microservices that compose our platform.

As a Senior Backend Engineer in our team, you’re ensuring our components keep on talking to each other, which means in particular:

• Playing an active role in the development, maintenance and integration of our systems
• Being an active driver of refactoring and scaling
• Working closely with other team members, also mentoring the less experienced ones
• Applying your experience programming in Java 8 and 11
• Working with technologies like Springboot, JPA, REST Apis, Docker, Kubernetes, Camunda, AWS and Terraform
• Building a system in the spirit of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Qualifications

What you should bring (ideally):

• A passion for Backend development, that goes without saying
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems and/or equivalent work experience
• Solid experience with Java development and microservices architecture
• Proficient experience Java, Springboot, Maven, JPA and REST Apis
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Camunda, AWS and Terraform is a plus
• Background in working in an agile software development team
• Independence, dedication and ability to deliver production ready (and clean) code
• The ability to work independently, responsibly, accurately and reliably - with a data driven mindset
• The spirit of a team member, discussing solutions and ideas in a positive and respectful way - we strive for knowldge share
• Interest to mentor and coach junior engineers
• Fluency in English (German is not required)
