Junior Industrial Designer

Description

Manage meetings with clients or colleagues to discuss the design brief to establish the design for the product; 

Makes presentations to Design Center Manager or clients, either when bidding for a contract or to present design proposals. 

Works on ideas as part of a team or developing design concepts using Cad 2/3 D; 

Works closely with Product Development engineers, labs technicians, sales and marketing staff and other skilled people; 

Sketch initial design ideas; Identify the suitability and availability of materials; 

Produce detailed, final hand drawings and specifications or, more likely, using dedicated computer software (CAD) to roduce design specifications, including parts lists and costings; 

Make – with the support of prototypist - samples or working models by hand or using computerised prototyping equipment; 

Test the design concept by computerised modelling or physical hands-on testing of models;

Research materials, processes or market requirements; Arrange meetings and liaising with Product Development Team and other departments, including marketing, sales and procurement to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes, costs and commercial issues; 

Occasionally travels to support markting and sales force; 

Makes presentations to Design Center Manager or clients, either when bidding for a contract or to present design proposals.

Requirements: 

 Degree / Post Graduate Master in Industrial Design 

1 -2 years designing and documenting industrial product, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe 

Very Good Knowledge CAD 2/3D programs and computer designs (3Dstudiomax, VRay)
