Description

  • Strategy: support the local execution of the global Communications and PR strategy which is primarily focused on consumer PR but also includes efforts in trade and corporate PR. Adapting, developing and executing a PR strategy for the Malaysian market.
  • Press office management: answer daily media or influencers enquiries, identify interesting and relevant journalists/media outlets and influencers, monitor all coverage and fill-in reports. Build and maintain a strong relationship with a network of influencers and journalists for the brand (food, lifestyle, corporate).
  • Outreach: distribute and pitch all press releases to the relevant media outlets / channels with the objective of maximising results. Ensure a proactive follow-up of opportunities on a daily basis.
  • Interviews: organise interviews with local and international spokespersons and write related Q&A / memos.
  • Crisis management: monitor traditional and digital medias including social media on a daily basis and prepare Q&A and guidelines for local teams when needed (with the support of HQ).
  • Content ideas and local adaptation: adapt the content provided by HQ with local information and work with our content writers to find new creative angles for journalists and influencers.
  • Events: organise regular events for journalists and influencers as well as identify sponsorship opportunities in-line with marketing campaigns.
  • Influencers collaboration: identify and contact relevant influencers to set-up valuable collaborations for the brand.
Qualifications:
  • Successfully completed studies in the field of communication or social sciences and already have 4-5 years experience working in the PR / Communications field or similar positions.
  • PR agency work experience is preferred.
  • Experienced in managing lifestyle and corporate media.
  • Strong media network and connections with influencers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging PR channels.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Budget-management skills and proficiency.
  • Professional judgement and discretion that comes years of experience in the field.
  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in PR and Marketing.
  • Able to take directions, work independently and hands-on  as well as a collaborative team player.
  • Preferably: Malaysians
