Product Manager

The Product team is seeking an exceptional Product Manager to join our core global business systems team. This team owns the core Funding Circle operational platform which tackles various commercial areas as Customer Processing, CRM, Credit decisioning, Controls and Financial Crime Prevention. As a Product Manager, you will…

• Own the vision and the execution of one of the operational capabilities streams within Business Systems.
• Manage a development team’s backlog - write and prioritise stories, manage the roadmap.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and other product managers to make decisions on scope to deliver value in small increments as quickly as possible
• Understand the minimum viable product (MVP) - prioritise what is needed for launch and learn as quickly as possible.
• Constantly seek to innovate and make well informed build/buy decisions: manage relationships with suppliers, enable fast decision-making, keep track of deadlines and agendas
• Support the existing platform users and be a gatekeeper for quality and support.
• Demonstrate willingness to travel to our other geographies occasionally in order to launch product features and build up your relationship with global stakeholders.

You’ve been there and done this…

• You have held a Product Manager role in another organisation for a reasonable period (preferably in high growth e-commerce, finance or marketplace businesses)
• You are excited about solving the hard technical challenges with large-scale operational systems
• You have proven experience with launching sophisticated products that require expectation management and internal coordination with other teams.
• You have proven experience with managing agile development teams
• You have a mindset geared toward data analytics and making decisions based on facts.
• You possess the desire and ability to navigate from “what is being asked” to “what is the need”.
• You have strong, proven problem-solving skills with proven ability to dig deep to fully understand the desired solution /outcome
• You have a solid technical background - understanding of web technologies and software development
• You have the ability to own product development throughout the entire product lifecycle, particularly the requirement and design phases
• Have experience with customer management systems (preferably Salesforce)

It would be great if you’ve also had…

• Prior experience with launching complex operational features and managing expectations and launch plans.
• Business, Finance, Engineering or Computer Science degree, or relevant experience in financial products
• Genuine interest in finance and especially debt markets
• Experience working on a global project with teams across geographies and time zones
