Houzz is seeking a Demand Planner to work with our Sales, Buying, Merchandising, Financing, and Warehouse teams to forecast models for demand of consumers and analyze activities associated with consumers and products. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our rapidly expanding and successful Marketplace.
We are seeking a highly motivated leader with experience and a track record of proven success in a relevant role within the supply chain/e-commerce field. This individual is detail oriented and has the ability to create and maintain forecast models for demand of consumers by incorporating business intelligence and information gathered from e-commerce departments, reports and other sources. This person demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop consumer demand forecasts which incorporate current and accurate market information that allows the company to correctly predict customer demand and provide its warehousing team with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Develop relationships among sales, buying, merchandising and finance teams, which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus forecast to better guide the company and ensure that data is current and accurate
  • Provide input to the Supply Planner and/or Warehouse, Sales and Merchandising teams in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs
  • Execute with excellence in the area of warehousing inventory replenishment and feedback to the buying team of the opportunities and risks regarding consumer replenishment performance metrics
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process. Present information verbally as well as written
  • Skills and Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of supply chain experience (forecasting and demand planning desired)
  • B.S./B.A. Degree in Business or Supply Chain field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impact
  • Experience with software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, decision making, and presentation skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to the ever changing needs of the Marketplace team, and demonstrate a capacity to organize and prioritize your own workload
  • Desired:
  • APICS or other forecasting certification
  • Knowledge of SAP/APO, Anaplan, Demand Caster, Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning
