About the RoleHouzz is hiring a Director of Analytics to oversee all of Business Analytics, Product Analytics and Data Science efforts to enable better decision making for our Industry Solutions teams. 
This is a role where your team is responsible for delivering data and insights that drive decision making for our business and product initiative. You will be tasked with scaling our existing analytics function to help us grow the business. The best analytics leaders understand that their product is the tools, accuracy, and accessibility of data so that all individuals can operate in a self-sufficient and trusted way to make the decisions needed to keep us moving aggressively towards our goals.
You will work with a cross functional team of product, design , engineering, and sales and ensure we are creating a strong data culture at Houzz by enabling our cross-functional partners to be more data-informed. You will need to be able to translate strong insights about user behavior and analysis techniques into actionable work for the team. You will need to mentor and grow them on both technical skills and broader analytical approaches. With the open team structure at Houzz you will have the opportunity to work across all aspects of the business.
What You’ll Do

  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team of data analysts and managers.
  • Work closely with leadership to answer important questions about our customers, our product and the business.
  • Partner with our Product teams to influence planning and prioritization
  • Champion strategic areas where we can invest to improve our data capabilities, tools, and reporting/dashboard infrastructure to enable decision-making throughout the team
  • Work hand-in-hand with product teams to support strategic growth initiatives
  • Foster a data culture across the organization by leveling up our analytics function
  • Partner with Data Infrastructure team to deliver best in class data in terms of quality and structure
  • Evangelize the needs of the analytics team to ensure proper resourcing to match the growth of the product and business

  • At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have

  • 8+ years of experience in a management role
  • Extensive and relevant work experience leading and growing Analytics teams
  • A proven track record of using quantitative analysis to impact key decisions
  • Strong storyteller and ability to communicate effectively with managers and executives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with modern distributed data technologies (hadoop, hive, impala, teradata, etc)
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics/Math/Engineering required

    About the RoleWe’re looking for a driven problem solver who is dedicated to making sure our customers and Customer Support team members are fully supported. We need a self-starter with strong leadership skills who can quickly solve problems. This will be a temporary position for a 90-day period with the potential for permanent hire.

  • Efficiently resolve Customer Support inquiries via multiple communication channels, including inbound phone, email and chat support inquiries

    About the RoleWe are looking for a world-class software engineer to join our infrastructure team. Our mission is to maintain the stability of the Houzz site for our growing number of users. Our team is working on building systems that will scale with the millions of homeowners, professionals, photos, and products on Houzz. Critical projects will focus on the reliability, security, performance and cost optimization of our key infrastructures, including container platform, storage systems, monitoring systems, configuration management, etc.
    What You'll Do

  • Own key infrastructures that the entire Houzz product is built upon
  • Maintain and improve reliability of the Houzz site
  • Secure infrastructures against potential threats
  • Scale infrastructures to handle ever-growing traffic and feature sets
  • Optimize resource management towards overall business success

  • At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have

  • Strong desire to work on end-to-end projects that require design, coding, operations and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in common programming and scripting languages (Python, Shell, PHP, Java, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Linux and some of the common infrastructures: container platform (Kubernetes), storage systems (MySQL, Redis, Cassandra, Hadoop), monitoring systems (Prometheus, TSDB), management systems (salt, AWS, Terraform), etc.

    About the RoleData Engineers bridge the gap between infrastructure and business. As a Houzz Data Engineer, you will work closely with analysts, data scientists, product managers and researchers to internalize every use case of data within the company. You will also work with data infrastructure to build the necessary platform to house the data and intuitive tools to leverage the data. Additionally, you will work with back-end and front-end engineers to implement the proper logging in order to understand our users’ behavior. You will then build efficient ETL processes that produce the core datasets and dashboards that are leveraged to understand how the company is performing and to make data-driven decisions at Houzz.
    What You’ll Do

  • Architect and build core datasets
