Description

Houzz is looking for a hands-on HR (People Service) Generalist to support our exciting growth! You will provide and deliver an effective HR service by facilitating generalist HR administration for our Palo Alto employees, while collaborating with management to support People Services' objectives. This role is a true generalist role covering all aspects of Human Resources.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate and support the Houzz employee lifecycle
  • Exercise employment best practices and facilitate training and development initiatives
  • Provide HR point of service, administer tools and support employees on all HR policies and procedures
  • Partner with and advise the leadership team on the resolution of employee relations, corrective action, and performance issues
  • Partner with and advise the leadership team to develop plans to improve employee retention, succession planning, and overall team morale
  • Investigate allegations of harassment, discrimination, and violations of company policy
  • Ensure inquiries and issues are handled in a timely and effective manner according to process and legal timescales with professionalism, fairness and consistency.
  • Work with employees and leaders to ensure the appropriate administration of leave programs to include FMLA, Workers Compensation, Short Term and Long Term Disability, Personal and Military Leave
  • Be able to take on Ad Hoc HR projects and programs to support the overall business objectives
  • Help create an environment of positive morale through an open door philosophy
  • Administration of employee on-boarding and separation processes
  • Administration of HRIS systems and employment records
  • Administer statutory and employer sponsored benefits

  • Practices the highest level of professionalism and discretion
  • Is deliberate with high attention to detail 
  • Has a record of personal and professional integrity
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written 
  • Able to perform at a high level, in a fast pace, start up work environment 
  • Demonstrated generalist background, 1-4 years equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years payroll administration experience is a plus
  • HR courses & development training is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, Advanced Degree is a plus
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certifications a plus
