About the Role

Houzz is looking for a skilled 3D pipeline engineer to help us create the tools and pipelines necessary to power game-changing visualization experiences. This role works closely with a variety of disciplines including tech art, backend engineering, app engineering and more.

What You’ll Do

Design, implement, and maintain automation pipelines to process a large, structured set of 3D content data

Design and implement artist facing tools including meta-tagging tools, preview tools, material editors and more

Implement and maintain infrastructure and internal tools to improve the efficiency, quality and feature set of our content farm

Work with application and backend engineers to deploy authored content data to application API

Monitor and maintain pipeline processes and batch jobs from content farm to application API

At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have

Proficiency with modern scripting languages (Python/JavaScript)

Proficiency with databases (MySQL/NoSQL)

Experience building tools for game engines and DCC packages such as Maya, 3D Studio Max, or Blender

Experience building automated data metrics, error logging and triaging systems

Experience implementing and maintaining asset pipelines for interactive applications

Experience serving assets for cross-platform applications

Knowledge of distributed systems and data-intensive applications

Strong team communication skills

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
