Description

At iwoca we believe finance should make life easier, not harder, for small businesses. When small businesses go to traditional lenders they are forced to deal with long waits, absurdly rigid criteria, and impersonal bureaucracies. We believe small businesses deserve a financing service that strips out the hassle; that gets to know each customer’s needs; that generates opportunities instead of problems. iwoca is finance, custom-built to expand possibilities for small business. Since 2012, we've made finance available to over 50,000 businesses across Europe and lent over £1 billion. Our customers include everything from cafés to car dealers, salons to solicitors.

We currently hiring for a Technical Programme Manager to join our team in London, in this role you’ll be responsible for defining the technical solutions for allowing 3rd parties to refer customers to iwoca, and integrate our products into their own platforms. You’ll be working closely with a product manager, and a full-stack team of developers and designers.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the long term technical vision for how these areas will develop.
  • Create technical solution specifications, ensuring that they meet the product requirements.
  • Work with the product manager and other stakeholders in the business to ensure that solutions fit their needs.
  • Work closely with developers to help them understand the business requirements.
  • Track success metrics for individual projects and the team as a whole.

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Problem solving skills: You’re passionate about building products that solve real customer needs and have the creative flair required to come up with innovative solutions
  • Bias to action and resourcefulness: You’ll roll your sleeves up to launch fast and iterate, bootstrapping and recruiting the necessary resources
  • Strong analytical skills: Experience with tools like Excel, Python or SQL is beneficial but we’re more concerned about your mindset and underlying appreciation for using data to make smart decisions
  • Tech savviness: You should be comfortable reading code to understand what it’s doing, and how that relates to the business problems. Being able to make minor changes yourself is a bonus.
  • Communication skills: You’ll need to establish credibility and get the best out of a wide range of people across the business, ranging from developers to operations staff to senior management

Benefits

You will always have a say in the business and have the opportunity to really make a difference. Joining our team means you will be working on some cool projects and get the opportunity to really make a difference to people’s lives.
