Full Stack Engineer

Description

Due to a propelling growth in our direct to consumer business, we are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to shape the next growth phase of On’s online business. You will work in a cross functional product team together with a product manager, software engineers, digital designer and data scientist to build and hack new digital products for elevated growth. As an experienced and agile engineer, you will contribute with a growth hacking culture, high tempo testing mantra and build web applications and digital products for increased performance. You will be sitting in our headquarter in Zürich. A close collaboration with the digital team in Berlin, a s well as with the local teams in Portland (USA), Melbourne (Australia), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Yokohama (Japan) is given.

As you might expect from a running brand, the E-Commerce team at On is a fast-paced place to be. This team of interdisciplinary all-stars are used to rapid turnaround times and ambitious targets. From engineers to designers, data scientists and digital marketing specialists, this is the team responsible for creating winning digital products and campaigns that run the length of the purchase funnel. The shared goal? Efficient growth at high speed – what else?

• Maintaining and extending several web applications, which include front end, back end and infrastructure
• Supporting further growth by working on performance and reliability of digital products

• You have a deep knowledge of Ruby On Rails
• You have hands-on knowledge of database administration and scaling (MySQL on RDS)
• Knowledge of API design and interaction is desirable as our complete business landscape is built on the cloud. ERP, CRM and the finance system are sitting on the force.com platform (Salesforce)
• You have experience with web app deployments in AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, deployments over multiple regions) and are up to speed with the latest DevOps trends (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes...)
• You are experienced in responsive web design and have a solid technical understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Automated testing is an important part of your workflow and the terms TDD, Rspec, Capybara are familiar to you
• E-commerce background and ideal with a shop system like Spree or Solidus is a big plus
• Fluent English and/or German skills
