The Role:

Join our international Product & Engineering team and take an active role in shaping the future of thousands of HR teams and organizations across Europe. With Personio Payroll we’re building a revolutionary product, expanding our HR platform for small and medium sized businesses.As Teamlead Payroll Compliance (m/f/d) you directly contribute to scaling our integrated payroll offering, working at the interface of our product and operations teams. With your managerial skills and deep payroll experience, you and your team of Payroll Experts enable serving our customers and support quality assurance. Our Payroll Compliance team complements our product’s capabilities by handling non-automated cases and closely collaborates with our Payroll Operations team. Your feedback to product teams directly contributes to further product automation and a great user experience.These tasks await you in detail:
  • Continuously understand product capabilities in the context of our customers’ needs and develop compensation strategies
  • Define processes and coordinate a team of Payroll Experts to effectively manage the manual work required to serve our payroll customers
  • Analyse repetitive tasks to drive automation of quality assurance and enablement of our Payroll Operations team
  • Ensure efficient collaboration with our Payroll Operations team and support a great customer experience
  • Create, monitor, and refine meaningful KPIs that measure success of your team
  • Operationally support your team by conducting reviews of payroll documents and solving hard payroll cases
  • Educate our go-to-market strategy and target segment, qualify new customers based on their requirements and product coverage
  • Work with product teams and product managers to help prioritize based on our customers’ needs
  • Coaching, performance management and development of your team members

What you need to succeed:

  • In-depth expertise and knowledge of German payroll based on professional education or studies in the field of accounting, controlling, tax or payroll
  • At least 3 years of operational experience in payroll calculations and responsibility of the end-to-end payroll process
  • At least 2 years of people management experience
  • Strong technical understanding and advanced skills in Excel / Google Spreadsheets 
  • Excellent organizational skills and well-structured work style with a high level of diligence
  • Analytical thinking and abstraction capabilities to solve problems in a systematic manner
  • Customer-centric and solution-oriented mindset 
  • Effective stakeholder management through frequent and clear communication
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English
