We’re looking for a capable professional to join our team as Compliance Manager with a mindset that allows us to build processes and relationships that put our customers first, being aware of the risks surrounding the industry, specific products and requirements set to us by regulations and partners while maintaining business.


What you’ll get to do:


  • Manage risk by building and executing proportionate onboarding and ongoing monitoring controls for TransferWise’s business customers;
  • Untangle complex business models and ownership structures across a range of business types such as financial services organisations and marketplaces; 
  • Build and maintain compliance relationships with partners and business customers;
  • Negotiate compliance-related arrangements and contractual terms with business customers where necessary, always representing TransferWise’s culture and values, while ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations;
  • Contribute to compliance processes at large where business products are impacted, by evolving both our policies and our due diligence processes;
  • Confidently demonstrate and defend policies, processes and auditable due diligence records to regulators and auditors.

What we’re looking for:


  • Passion about payments, fintech and risk management and with an eye on the future; 
  • Strong background in compliance (regulatory or AML), fintech and payments sector is preferred;
  • Clear communication, project coordination and management skills;
  • A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure or tight deadlines; 
  • Wisdom, a world view and talent for thinking outside the box; 
  • Professionalism and high integrity; 
  • Willingness to challenge teams and themselves on how to best serve our business customers, while keeping processes robust and compliant; 
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 25% of the time).
