Description

We’re looking for a Product Manager - Bank Partnerships to join our growing product team in London. The role is a unique opportunity to partner with banks to integrate the TransferWise experience within their own apps – like Monzo and N26 for example. This role is to take that starting point and develop the product to be scalable and maintainable in implementations with even the largest of banks, and to cut through the bureaucratic complexity to get these partnerships live.

Your mission:

  • You’ll figure out how to deliver a great TransferWise customer experience through the banks, in a maintainable way. You’ll have strong customer empathy and ensure implementations deliver on the UX.
  • Developing the bank specific interfaces, components and product features, which go beyond the standard TransferWise API and support both the frontend experience as well as backend operations
  • You won’t be coding on a daily basis, but you are expected to be well versed reading the code and making smaller commits where relevant.
  • Support banks in the delivery of their integration projects. Assume that you’ll be travelling a lot and working half of the time at the bank’s offices. Your success is measured by the speed at which these integrations go live to bank users.
  • Confidently working across internal bank teams - managing commercial owners, senior sponsors as well as working directly with other internal bank teams to get signoff across for example legal, compliance, product, technology, customer service
  • Manage the implementation of the end-to-end service including the support model, technical integration, funds flow, reporting, AML and exception handling.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Solve ‘traditional’ problems Banks face around costs, service and delivery time - help them offer next-generation services to their consumer, SMB and business clients.
  • Inspire teams with your ideas, knowledge and self-starting attitude
  • Be flexible in how and where you work, we understand everyone needs a little something different so we’ll do our best to make it happen

A bit about you:

  • You have worked as a software engineer in the past or are trained in computer science or hold an equivalent technical degree. You have built an app. May be for work, may be as a side project.
  • You gained your industry experience working for banks through a consulting firm, in an outsourcing arrangement or were directly employed by a bank. Direct Product Management experience is a plus.
  • You’ve experience of running complex cross-functional projects and how to build momentum, get decisions and launch products in the context of banks’ product development processes.
  • You understand how correspondent banking works. You know what a MT103 is and what its cover stands for. You’ll have a list of things that implementing TransferWise in a bank is likely to break.
  • You are customer-focused. At TransferWise, customers always come first. You need to be enthusiastic about our customers. We are a company doing great things, but we couldn’t do it without our customers being ready to start a revolution.
  • You are data-driven. You need to be able to prioritise the value you can add to customers, and numbers are the best way to do this. You can give examples of how you have moved some metrics before.

A bit about TransferWise: Since 2011, we’ve had a clear mission: money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives, we’re the fairest, easiest way to manage your money across borders. We’re just at the beginning of our story and we’re growing at an incredible pace. We won’t stop until anyone, anywhere can send, spend and receive money wherever they are, whatever they’re doing. There’s still heaps to do and we can’t do it alone. Our People: At TransferWise, you’ll be joining a movement of people who believe in a better, fairer, more transparent way of moving money around the world. You’ll collaborate to do your best work and take on problems that no one has looked at before. If you’re keen to learn, grow, try new things and aren’t afraid of a bold plan, you’ll fit right in. How we work: At TransferWise our strategy emerges from the collective brainpower of all our people, who are organised in dozens of independent, autonomous teams. Teams stay closest to our customers, so they choose what problems to solve and where to spend the most time. You’ll experience radical levels of ownership and empowerment within your role. Plus the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work on our customers.
