We're looking for a full-time Security Operations Team Lead to join our growing team in London. The role is a unique opportunity to build beautifully simple experiences that guide our customers through TransferWise, helping them to live, travel and work internationally.

Your mission: 

You will be leading the Security Operations team which is responsible for running the Security Operations Center (SOC).

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Security Operations Team

• Help us take TransferWise to the next level as we scale to impact 100's of millions more customers. You'll hide away all complexities under the hood of our product and build seamless experiences for our customers
• You will work with the rest of the Security and Privacy team on strategic plans for the organisation, defining security procedures and policies for the whole organization. 
• Supporting product engineers and promoting good security engineering practices to our internal engineering community.

About you:

• Passionate about Cybersecurity and Information Protection;
• 6+ years of IT Security experience, 3+ of which in a lead role;
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Strategic and analytical thinker;
• Project management skills and ability to multitask;
• Ability to keep a cool head and act decisively in high stress situations;
• Strong technical background;
• Willing to travel, to work and learn with dev teams;
• Excited to work in a high-growth company, and throw themselves fully into a revolution;

Some extra skills that would be great:

• You have experience building and leading SOC, Product Security or Application Security team;
• A Good discipline and skill in producing written documentation;
• You have experience with conceiving and delivering theoretical and practical training sessions to engineers;
• You have good experience with AWS cloud security;
• You have experience with Docker and Kubernetes security;
• You know your way around managing bug bounty programs;
• Some previous  working experience  in a fast paced “startup” style environment;
• You have experience with IDS, SIEM, vulnerability scanning solutions;
• Understand and know how to secure networks or OS hardening;
• Previous hands on experience  in software engineering (Java, Python);
• Understanding of Scrum and Agile development;
• Basic understanding of statistics and data analytics;
