Software Engineer in Test (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

We believe that in order to build high-quality software you have to constantly try to break it, because every time you do that, afterwards you can rebuild it and make it better. That is exactly what we expect from Software Engineers in Test here at home24. You must be able to understand how software is created and operates in order to find creative ways to break it, find problematic, potentially slow and not secure parts of a software. Once you do crack it down, then we expect you will provide solutions on how we could automate the process of identifying such issues. Automation is a key here because if you want to do this in scale there is no place for manual testing.In short, as a member of a cross-functional team we expect that you will: 

• Break things
• Write automated tests
• Provide tooling and guidance on QA and QC best practices to the team
• Work together with a team to build a testing strategy
• Work together with Software Engineers in Test from other teams to ensure and control the quality of our whole platform

Your Profile

You must have: 

• Experience with evaluating and integrating open source and in-house developed tool-sets to automate testing processes
• Knowledge of defining test strategy for complex cloud web applications
• Experience in performing performance, load and security testing
• Experience in automating the validation of modern user interfaces
• Experience in testing service-oriented platforms (testing async communications etc.)

Would be a huge plus if you would have: 

• Experience in applying QA/QC best practices and in aligning QA/QC efforts in between the teams
• Any experience with API testing, PII, compliance, mobile apps testing
• Any experience working with containers (lxc, docker, rkt)

Qualifications:

• Good knowledge in one of following programming languages: Python, Javascript, PHP, Golang
• Willing to learn at least one more programming language
• Experience developing in a Linux environment
• 5+ years of relevant experience with web applications and complex software systems testing
• 2+ years of testing automation experience with web applications
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in the quality of work
