Full Stack Developer - Verification & KYC (Know Your Customer)

What you’ll be working on? 

The financial institution services have a problem.

Regulators and banking partners are still relying on antique, not convenient and not the most reliable sources for identifying customer in modern tech world. We believe and work on building-on up to date technological solutions that can help us identify customers and understand their behaviour for offering the best experience to our customers and highest credibility to our regulators & partners.

As an KYC Full Stack Developer you will have solid experience with the back end technologies and full stack solutions. As part of the KYC team you'll be changing the world of finance to be more convenient, fast and secure for the customers. All these by removing the hurdles of verification while learning to know our customers. More precisely, some stuff you'll be working on (among others):

• Scaling our systems to support customers and products growth
• Fine-tuning and extending our API for internal and external customers
• Finding and building new, more customer friendly, onboarding methods
• Figuring out technical solutions for providing best onboarding experience
• Building world class tools to support our internal operational team with providing best experience for our customers

What you will have?

• Experience in building backend systems, preferably using Java 8
• Background with backend MVC framework - Java and Spring Boot preferred
• Experience with developing in a modern front-end framework, Angular.Js is preferred but React, Backbone, Ember and/or Knockout are also relevant
• Experience with SQL databases, writing custom queries and designing schemas
• Understanding of test driven development (TDD), and the desire to write tests
• Experience in distributed and concurrent systems, knowing the trade-offs between stateful/stateless and synchronous/asynchronous architectures.

• Are willing to travel, to work and learn with dev teams in Tallinn, London, US, etc.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with KYC, financial systems, compliance, risk, fraud or anti money laundering
• Experience and/or understanding of Machine Learning Practices
• Experience with PostgreSQL, advanced types and query features
• Knowledge of event driven architecture, REST microservices, Spring Boot, Groovy, Hibernate and/or Lombok
• Experience with messaging services (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS etc)
• You feel strongly about fighting criminals and you are a TransferWise customer
