We’re looking for a Head of Regional Finance to join our growing team, based in Europe. The role is a unique opportunity to lead a global finance team to help millions more potential customers save money by using TransferWise.


Your mission: 


  • Lead a globally diverse Regional Financial Control team with team members across Europe, Asia and LATam and expected to grow as the business grows to serve more customers globally.
  • You’ll use your Financial Controller capabilities to steer the growing TransferWise business in the right financial direction, ensuring we comply with our global and local accounting, regulatory and tax requirements alongside our growing finance organisation. 
  • You’ll be leading a team who are the financial face of TransferWise to local product teams, directors and regulators. You’ll work with our global expansion team, Compliance and finance teams, to ensure financial compliance, as well as maintaining strong outsourced accountancy firm and regulatory relationships. 
  • The Regional Finance team are the main finance contacts for regional product teams and the TW global expansion team, ensuring we plan for and execute launches of new entities and products once financially compliant and commercially optimised for growth. Your financial and commercial skills will be pushed to the limit as we significantly expand in MEA, Asia and LATam, as well as into new licenced products including investments and further global expansion of our borderless product. 
  • The team financially controls c.20 TW entities and growing, you will be responsible for optimising the global structure of the team, standardising controls, as well as financial and commercial approaches to global problems, which may include changing corporate and capital structures
  • The role will also drive numerous projects across finance to grow the business, enhance our controls and processes, ensuring they mature and scale appropriately with the growing size and complexity of the global TransferWise business.

A bit about you: 


 


  • You can take responsibility and make decisions independently, you’re great at organising your own and a diverse teams work schedule with little or no guidance (you’ll get a lot of support but soon you’ll be the expert)
  • Have solid financial control experience and have led and scaled a financial control team in a fast moving environment, being able to handle ambiguity and regularly changing demands
  • You’re a self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously and with teams located across all our offices and an ability to prioritise your and the teams focus based on impact. 
  • You have managed a complex internal and external stakeholder group with strong communication skills
  • Financial Controller experience in a financial services, payments or otherwise heavily regulated business and hence understanding the regulatory equity and risk and control requirements. Having experience as a subsidiary board director or equivalent would also help.
  • A pragmatic outlook, able to balance risk against stakeholder return and thinking outside the box
  • Ability to work collaboratively and identify where further support can be given to colleagues
  • Assessed and concluded on complex commercial and accounting matters; setting up new corporate or capital structures and accounting policies, processes and controls
  • You’re fluent in English
