The Founders Story

In 2011 my co-founder and I (Daumantas Dvilinskas) established a more traditional import/export business, which meant we had to make regular international payments to our suppliers. Back then, banks were our only option and, oh boy, it was a nightmare - expensive, long process with zero focus on the customer satisfaction. 

One fine day, one of the UK’s major banks managed to send our money not only to the wrong country, but also in the wrong currency, which meant we lost our supply-chain partners, were subject to penalties and our credibility took a solid blow. Read more

The Role

TransferGo is seeking a talented VP Legal to join our team to support business growth and expansion. The VP Legal’s main responsibility will be to draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements with suppliers, partners and customers. The VP Legal will also be expected to advise on regulatory matters including compliance with regulations as well as to produce and/or maintain a variety of internal policies and compliance related documents.

Reporting directly to our CEO/Co-founder and collaborating with all core functions within the company, the successful candidate will be able to handle multiple areas of responsibilities autonomously, demonstrating excellent critical judgement with hands-on approach. This is a great opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across multiple jurisdictions and play a key role in supporting the company’s rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including strategic partnerships, complex business deals, and customised sales contracts.
  • Resolve legal issues and contract interpretation matters that arise during negotiations.
  • Produce and/or maintain various standard agreements (e.g. NDA, supplier and customer agreement etc.).
  • Advise on special projects as needed, including new product developments, while taking into consideration their legal and regulatory impact.
  • Advise on commercial legal issues and risks.
  • Conduct research on various multi-jurisdictional legal issues.
  • Flag new legal and regulatory developments and consider their impact on TransferGo.
  • Conduct research on various multi-jurisdictional legal issues.
  • Advise on special projects as needed, including new product developments, while taking into consideration their legal and regulatory impact.
  • Support the Company’s strategic projects and initiatives by providing creative, proactive and results orientated advice.
  • Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor/Lawyer in the UK, with 7+ years PQE in a leading law firm.
  • In addition, prior in-house experience reporting into C-Level in the Finance and/or FinTech industry (e.g. payment institution, e-money institution, bank) would be an advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage a high volume of work.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently with minimal guidance.
  • High level of written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be open-minded and willing to accept new challenges.
  • Fluent English is a must, other languages including Russian would be an advantage.

    About the role

    We’re currently looking for an experienced and bright HR Operations Specialist to join our growing team. This is a temporary role due to maternity leave.

    Main responsibilities:

  • Manage employment related documentation and candidates' relocation processes in various countries.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date employee data is maintained.
  • Manage payroll information and process in different office locations.
  • Administrate benefits and proactively build advanced benefits scheme across the different offices.
  • HRIS maintenance and ensuring constant improvements.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers regarding all employment, payroll, absence management, etc. related questions.
  • Manage end to end operational processes of the employee's life cycle.

  • Build and grow global relationships with TransferGo partners, e.g. Financial Institutions and Payment Service Providers.
  • Expand TransferGo’s unique global infrastructure of x-border payment solutions by driving end-to-end partner on-boarding / KYC processes, and a.o. successfully managing the opening and maintenance requirements of corporate bank accounts and local licences.
  • Maintain high delivery standard to stakeholders of legal documentation, information providing and (internal) reports.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent and effective partner compliance strategy.
