You know the players in Banking and want to make a difference in the Banking & Financial Services space.  Join us!  We’re looking for a US Director of Bank Partnerships to identify, cultivate, manage and on-board new financial partners while developing our capital markets programs. This is a key individual who will be vital to the ongoing development of Funding Circle’s Banking investments. The Director will be part of a small and nimble team that also provides feedback into product & operations.

Birds-eye view of the role:

• Responsible for new business development and the expansion of current relationships / advancement of the Funding Circle brand among the bank investor community
• Develop a bank pipeline from identification to deal completion to create net-new funding sources for our Small Business marketplace lending platform
• Develop and nurture an extensive network of contacts with a focus on mid-tiered banks.  
• Prepare and deliver commercial business case(s) to senior management for prospective new partnerships
• Lead negotiations with prospective partners and own deal closing
• Work with bank partners on opportunities to grow existing programs and identify and develop co-marketing opportunities
• Work cross functionally with key internal stakeholders
• Position can be located in San Francisco or New York

Our ideal teammate:

• Minimum 8-12 years relevant work experience
• Bachelor (4+ year) degree in a related field required; MBA or CFA a plus
• Expert knowledge of bank return measurements, regulatory framework and investment strategies
• Strong team player with demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong negotiating and marketing skills
• Track record as a successful closer
• Ability to work in fast moving, complex and often ambiguous environment
• Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with data visualization tools
