About the Role

Houzz is looking for a team-player with strong communication skills and superb attention to details to take on a role of Staff Accountant. In this position, you will work closely with the Accounting Manager in all aspects of finance and accounting.

What You'll Do

Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures

Prepare necessary journal entries

Prepare monthly account reconciliations

Assist with cash applications

Analyze and adjust balance sheet accounts as appropriate (Prepaids, Credit Cards, etc.)

Maintain documentation of processes related to accounting procedures and internal controls

Participate in ad-hoc projects as required

At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have

A college degree with a B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3+ years of progressive experience in Accounting

Strong knowledge of US GAAP

ERP systems experience, NetSuite is a plus

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines

A precision- and detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills

A proven ability to identify and drive process/system improvements

Solid communication skills (written and verbal); strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability; ability to maintain confidentiality

An ability to work effectively within a team, as well as independently and cross-functionally

A trustworthy, positive, energetic and optimistic attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
