Join Houzz and help revolutionise the home decor industry by providing an integrated shopping experience where customers can find inspiration for their homes and buy products all in one place. As a Designer for Houzz, you will be helping to create an outstanding collection of unique and exclusive home products for our key US market, alongside the UK and the rest of the world in the future. You will have the opportunity to design and develop a wide range of products from sofas to furniture, lighting, rugs, bathroom vanities and beyond.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a talented and motivated experienced Designer to help expand our portfolio and build out product selection across all main home decor categories. Based in London, this role would suit someone who has several years of experience working in a design role, with a focus on furniture and home and living products.

What you'll be doing

Working with the buying team to create the overall Houzz brand stories across our breadth of core styles from contemporary to transitional aesthetics.

Designing products for our key US market, alongside the UK and the rest of the world in the future.

Design and Product Development across a range of product categories including Furniture, Upholstery, Lighting, Textiles, Bathroom and more.

Creating visual briefs and GA drawings for our suppliers to clearly communicate the product concept and specifications.

Liaising with suppliers on design details and technical specifications to ensure we launch the best product at the right price.

Liaising with our Compliance team to ensure we develop products that are fit for purpose for their intended market.

Creating 2D and 3D drawings to best communicate your concepts both internally to key stakeholders and externally with our supply base.

Working with our global supply base from EU, Asia and USA including travelling to the factories if required to meet the needs of the business.

Working with our Compliance/QA team to action product feedback and specification revisions as needed to best improve our products.

What you'll need

Bachelor’s degree in design, related field, or equivalent work experience

Technically proficient in Solidworks, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, Gmail, etc

Self-starter who has the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at one time to achieve our goals

Excellent visual, verbal and written communication, as well as strong presentation skills

A personable and energetic communicator, eager to build relationships with our suppliers and internal teams

Efficient with their time and be prepared to join an extremely fast-paced environment

Have worked in, or closely with, a manufacturer in developing products (a big plus)

Accurate and thorough; doesn’t miss the details and doesn't drop the ball with suppliers

Passionate about brands, products, trends and have good knowledge about home design in the US and the EU

Verifiable track record of success working as part of a team and leading and coaching others

Experience with visual merchandising/product curation skills a plus

Experience in product design and development for a high street or online retailer a big plus.

Start-up or E-commerce experience is a big plus
