Senior Financial Accountant

She/he will provide guidance on accounting treatment (IFRS and Italian GAAP), manage the month-end closing and will prepare the statutory financial statements both for the Italian operating company and holding company, based in the UK.

Responsabilities

• Preparation of monthly trial balance, reconciliations and journals, accrual/deferred income and intercompany reconciliation

• Preparation of draft statutory accounts and all related documentation both for the Italian operating company and the holding company based in the UK.

• Assisting and managing external providers and the auditors

• Any other statutory/tax reporting (Journal, VAT Registers, fixed asset register) and compliance issues (grants, Intrastat, blacklist)

• Consolidation of company results each month and preparation of the monthly Board pack financial reports

• Guarantee the accuracy of accounting booking for Italy and IAS/ISFR

• Ensure accuracy of weekly cash flow forecasts

• Monthly accounting for the UK Holding Company (payroll, bank, accounts payable, VAT)

Required Skills and Experience

• Excellent communication and presentation skills: ability to tell the story behind the numbers in an easy manner, when dealing with stakeholders that may be unfamiliar with accounting principles

• Fluency in English is a MUST

• Advanced Excel capabilities will also be essential to perform the role

• Business Knowledge: able to see the big picture and understand how his/her job impacts the company as a whole

• Flexibility: open to find alternative ways to reach the target

• Influencing others: ability to ensure that processes and procedures are followed in a timely manner

• Assertiveness: ability to state the point respecting other stakeholder’s point of view

• Autonomy: capability to work with a low level of supervision

• IFRS Accounting Principles: good knowledge of the Italian and IFRS Accounting Principles

• SAP: working knowledge

• Tax and Intercompany contracts: good knowledge

We are looking for a solid Financial Accountant that combines a strategic thinking with a hands-on approach in the day to day operation.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Economics with + 4 years of experience in audit companies or in international companies (preferably in the UK market).
